LOL! As some of you may have noticed, a lot of my art lately has been drawing (mostly pencil) and some more figure drawing.

Recently I returned to taking classes in life drawing. It's been long overdue! I used to take figure drawing class at least once a year (if not several times a year), but there has been a long lapse, which made me feel like I was losing my edge. So finally I managed to get back to it, and it's been wonderful. So, expect to see more figure drawing (i.e. nudes) in my gallery.

I've mentioned this in my blog but I'll say it here too: figure drawing is a core part of many artists' education and a lot of us return to figure drawing regularly to keep our skills sharp.

I know that some people (even some artists!) think there's something wrong with drawing nudes (like it's "indecent"), but to me, it's all about stretching my drawing capabilities, and life drawing is one of the best ways to do that! So, I apologize if anyone doesn't like the nudes, but they are here to stay. If you want to avoid seeing any nudes, you can change your settings in dA so all "adult" content is filtered out. I always tag my figure drawings as "adult," following DeviantART's rules.

In case some of you are wondering about some of the Richard Armitage painting works-in-progress, never fear, they're in the queue, waiting to be finished! Right now I have a John Porter ("bondage") oil painting, a Guy of Gisborne acrylic painting (that started rocky but I know I can fix) and a Lucas North oil painting. I have some more portraits planned as part of my ongoing "Richard Series" of artwork.
